Community Service Projects
Hello RCAEOP members, here is the information on our next community service:
The name of the non-profit organization is KOINOINA, please click on the following link to learn more about KOINONIA:
Koinonia of Columbia is an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) non-profit in the community of Eau Claire. We envision a diverse network of compassionate people who are anchored deep like a tree at a riverside in the belief that every individual can know and celebrate their God-given skills and talents. When we fly in formation together and when we live and work together toward the common good, all may know community…. KOINONIA!
On Saturday, December 7, 2019 the students who attended this past summer camp will be hosting an asset-based craft market. The Bethlehem Market will shine the spotlight on our artists, writers, singers, dancers, builders, bakers, etc!
One larger expense we will have for the Market is the purchase of canvas bags and "transfers" which we will use to iron on the Koinonia logo. We plan to sell the bags at the market (as an eco-friendly option as opposed to plastic bags) so customers can place their craft purchases in them.
Here is the Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=canvas+bags+in+bulk&crid=1OAB8KTEU62EW&sprefix=canvas+bags+in+%2Caps%2C157&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_15
We can purchase 25 bags for $50. We'd like to purchase at least 100 bags.
The iron-on transfers are also expensive. They price at about $1 for each transfer. Here is the Amazon link:
The community service committee would like to ask everyone to bring at least $5.00 to the next meeting(you can donate more if you wish) and we will collect the monies and purchase a Amazon gift card to the organization so they can purchase these items.
It would be great if you wanted to attend this Bethlehem Market on December 7th to see the work of the students or volunteer.
If you have any questions please feel free to let me know, I look forward to seeing you at the next meeting.
