Professional Standards Program
Continuing education is essential for educational professionals to manage the rapidly changing conditions in the profession.
The National Association of Educational Office Professionals (NAEOP) provides the opportunity for members to enhance their professional competencies through academic programs and conferences. These incentive activities enable the members to take progressive steps to their desired professional growth level.
Successful completion of a NAEOP approved program qualifies the member for one or more of the following Professional Standards Program (PSP) certificates:
Members of NAEOP may apply for admission to the PSP. NAEOP encourages membership in local and state associations for educational professionals. PSP applications may be submitted at any time during the year and will be reviewed in a timely manner.
Enrollment
A member may enroll in the program at any level. Membership must be continuous while pursuing a PSP certificate. For complete requirements, click here for the PSP book.
State and local PSP Chairmen are available for assistance in guiding you through the certification process. Contact the NAEOP office for the name of the state or local chairman in your area.
Applicants are notified as soon as all requirements are met. All certificates are mailed to qualifiers as soon as their applications are approved. Their administrators are notified of the member’s PSP certificate achievement if contact information is supplied. An Awards/PSP banquet is held during the NAEOP annual conference to recognize members who have earned a PSP certificate or the distinction of CEOE or CESE.
Certified Educational Office Employee (CEOE) and Certified Educational Support Employee (CESE)
Once a member meets the requirements for Advanced III or above, they may apply for the CEOE or CESE distinction. The CEOE and CESE are sustained distinctions with no need for recertification and are valid with NAEOP membership.
